January 6, 2010—Due to continued poor market conditions, Tolko Industries Ltd. has announced the extensions of curtailments at its Armstrong and Soda Creek studmill divisions. The two-week holiday curtailments that commenced December 19 and were previously extended by another week, have now been extended by a minimum of an additional two weeks at both operations pending market and cost improvements.
These curtailments remove the equivalent of 390 million board feet on an annualized basis. Approximately 315 employees are affected by these curtailments.
