Tolko To Scale Back Plywood Production

Heffley Creek Division Reducing to Three Shifts

[Kamloops, BC] September 27, 2011 – Tolko Industries Ltd. has announced that operations at the company’s plywood facility near Kamloops, BC, will decrease from four shifts to three shifts effective October 30, 2011.

Approximately 30 Heffley Creek Division employees and 50 million square feet of plywood will be affected by this change.

“This is not a reflection of our people’s efforts or plant performance, but is in response to poor plywood markets and a competitive log market,” said Brenda Roberts, Plant Manager. “We regret the impact this will have on our employees and their families, and we acknowledge their hard work and commitment to Tolko and this division.”

Tolko Industries Ltd. is a private, Canadian-owned forest products company based in Vernon, British Columbia.
