With more than 65 years under our belt, you’d think we’d be slowing down, but you’d be wrong.
With a focus on people, geographic and product expansion, customer service, community investment, and indigenous partnerships, we’re just getting started. We’re looking forward, planning for our future, and we have the employees, the drive, and the determination to deliver excellence and innovation in everything we do.
Our People:
We believe the key to a great company is great people. That’s why we hire, develop, and retain talented people who demonstrate our values of safety, respect, integrity, open communication, progressiveness, and profit. We grow our own, offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and create an environment where employees can take pride in their work, feel valued, and go home safely each day.
Our Operations:
Tolko’s lumber, plywood, and Oriented Strand Board (OSB) operations are located in the abundant forests of Western Canada and extend into the Southern Yellow Pine forests of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama in the United States of America. Our operations focus on safely manufacturing and delivering consistent products that fully meet our standards and specifications.
See our map on page two for detailed location information.
DEPENDABLE, SUSTAINABLE TOLKO PRODUCTS:
It's our commitment to reliable, sustainable products and customer relationships that's allowed us to succeed over our 65 plus years in the business. Our customers receive the benefits of an experienced sales team with extensive product and market knowledge. Our plywood, OSB, and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) products are also APA certified, which guarantees our customers access to an impressive library of resource and technical support materials that cover topics including product storage, handling, installation, and much more.
SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT:
We manage our forest tenures professionally and sustainably. Currently, we maintain Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) certification and our mills are also Chain of Custody Certified to the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) CoC Standard.
Recognized by governments and customers around the world, these internationally accepted standards are independently audited to ensure conformance and transparency. They are your assurance that we source our products from forests managed to the highest international standards and that we are committed to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. We’re not just here to do business; we’re here to do business responsibly.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION:
We are committed to living our value of respect by creating an environment where people feel welcome and safe from harassment and discrimination. To support these efforts, we recognize the need to educate ourselves, build internal awareness, and provide relevant training to all employees.
OUR INDIGENOUS PARTNERSHIPS:
We recognize the connection between Indigenous People in Canada and the land, their families, communities, and traditional economies. We also benefit from healthy and resilient forest ecosystems which influence our families, communities, and business. That’s why we work together with more than 80 Indigenous communities in Western Canada to make positive relationships with Indigenous communities a priority.
OUR CONTRIBUTION:
Tolko provides more than 6,000 direct and indirect jobs in Canada, almost 3,000 of which are our direct employees.
We also contribute more than $500,000,000 to the economies of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan through wages, taxes, and timber fees.
