That's why we adhere to globally-recognized forest certification standards, providing a level of assurance that our products are from sustainably managed forests.
All of our certification standards are globally endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) International — the world’s largest forest certification organization. PEFC-endorsed standards are internationally-accepted and are recognized by governments and customers around the world.

1. Sustainable Forest Management (SFM)
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) — SFM Standard
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) program works to improve forest management across the United States and Canada (North America). It promotes sustainable forest management through stringent measures in order to protect:
- water quality
- biodiversity
- wildlife habitats
- species at risk
- forests with exceptional conservation value
- societal values including Indigenous Peoples' rights
2. Responsible Fibre Procurement
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) — Fibre Sourcing Standard
The SFI Fiber Sourcing Standard ensures that fiber purchased from other sources was produced by following best management practices and utilizing the services of forest management and harvesting professionals.
3. Chain of Custody
PEFC — Chain of Custody of Forest Based Products
Tolko's manufacturing plants and forest products are certified to the PEFC Chain of Custody Standard. This standard ensures that the raw material used in our products is traceable back to legal and socially acceptable sources. This provides our customers with confidence to rely on the sustainability of the products they purchase.
