For the families and caregivers of children with developmental challenges, every minute of time spent helping that child grow is invaluable.
In Vernon, BC, these children and youth receive critical support and services such as speech therapy, infant development, physical and occupational therapy, and autism services at the North Okanagan Neurological Association (NONA). With an increasing number of families accessing NONA’s services—in part because of a rising number of children being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)—NONA has outgrown its facilities.
To make more room and be able to offer services to all children and youth in need of therapy, NONA has embarked on a project to build The Clubhouse.
The Clubhouse will feature dedicated therapy rooms to offer specialized learning opportunities for life skills development and play experiences. Every day, more than 50 children will have a chance to learn, play and grow in this new space.
Tolko has been proud to partner with NONA on this project, donating more than $25,000 in lumber and plywood for the construction of the clubhouse, which is now being built in downtown Vernon.
