A business update on Tolko’s COVID-19 response

A Message to customers from Pino Pucci, Tolko’s VP Sales, Marketing & Logistics.

Our top priority remains the health and safety of our employees, customers, supply-chain partners and other stakeholders while continuing to provide our customers with essential products and services. We’ve been able to adapt, as we have throughout our history, and continue to safely run our operations while meeting the needs of our customers.

The federal government has deemed forest product manufacturing an essential service, and our products and co-products play an important role in the production of critical pandemic supplies, from building materials for important infrastructure to hygiene products to surgical masks.

We’ve taken steps to ensure our workplace is safe and based on discussions with industry, peers, and government, we’re doing the right things. It’s not business as usual, and we are working with all stakeholders to continue to operate safely. We’re still limiting access to our sites including screening all suppliers and trucks entering our facilities and minimizing physical contact in our shipping departments. We’ve also put in place additional cleaning and physical distancing, and we’re following the latest recommendations from our provincial health authorities.

With these protocols in place, we are ensuring that we maintain our commitments and supply the needs of our valued customers during these uncertain times. Our sales, logistics, and service employees are available, and our comprehensive in-market reload network is actively being used to support customer commitments. Where possible, employees are either working from home or taking extra steps to maintain physical distance and stay safe.

Tolko is open for business and we will continue to create stability for our employees, contractors, customers, vendors, and communities. We want to reassure our customers that we have taken action to ensure that our businesses can continue to safely manufacture quality products and we’ll be fulfilling our responsibilities as part of Canada’s critical infrastructure for as long as it is safe to do so. We will continue to closely monitor unfolding COVID-19 developments, and how they relate to Tolko, and update you as the situation develops.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to maintaining our current work with you through these challenging times.
